    Past JLPT Tests

    By thomas | September 11, 2008

The best way to prepare for the JLPT test is to take as many past JLPT tests as possible.  Some of these are sold commercially, but wouldn’t it be nice to have 17 years worth of tests to practice with?

The place to go is 51gzw.com.

Everything you need is right there on the front page.  The first column is level 1.  The last column is level 4.   Links to the sound files for the listening part of the tests are at the bottom of each column (red links with “MP3″ in them).  Answers are given at the end of each test.

If you find that 51gzw’s fonts drive you crazy, you can also find past tests here.  Just manually change the test year and test level in the URL to the test you want to take.   Test papers from this site include the scripts for the listening part.

Finally, another place to find the audio files for the listening section is here.

Thanks to hohomichi for the tip!

    Good luck on the test!

Are you taking the JLPT this year? A great way to prepare for the test is to take past exams. Where can you find past exams, lots of them, online, for free? Read and find out!…

I’m not quite ready to take the level 4 yet, but I hope to soon.

Yup, that’s a great way to prepare for JLPT. I didn’t want to read/study all the texts I bought, so I did all the past papers. And when I figured I didn’t fail any of the past papers, I sorta stop reviewing XP

Great links! However, for esnips, aren’t there any mp3s for level 4? Mostly are for levels 1, 2 and 3. Hope you can help me out!! We barely have 2 months to go before the JLPT. :)

Thanks for the links! They’re a great help! Only problem is I can’t find the answers. For the most recent tests on http://www.51gzw.com/ the answers don’t come up and I can’t find any answers on jlpt.biz

@ron: Try this link and manually change the url to the level and year you want the answers for:

thanks, thomas. I’d found that one. Unfortunately, the next level 1 answer sheet that comes up after that isn’t until 2000. I was hoping to find answers to the most recent tests.
