I have only used Flying Pig -once-, but I liked the experience. I won a contest in one of the gaijin mags so I got like 5000 yen or so in gift certificates for the store.

The coolest part was that they have lots of goods that you can’t get in “regular” Japanese super markets. Like giant packs of bagels and stuff. Getting everything delivered right to your door is super convenient as well.

The stuff is a little expensive, but foreign goods always are.

Hey – for anybody looking, I did end up finding a COD option. I had been looking under the shipping tab, not the payment tab – duh! I think I’m going to give this a run for my money when I have enough to make the box worth it. Awesome.

Any options for cash on delivery purchases? And does anyone know if they have “blackout zones” that they will not deliver to? (I live in an area that frequently makes that list.)

I like Costco, and in Japan I’m sure it’s even more useful since everything is so expensive. Plus, it’s always fun buying a 50 kg bag of flour! You wouldn’t want to run out of flour now, would you?

This isn’t a bad idea for those who miss the Costco portions. Do you know if they’ll expand to offer deliveries from other places? I’d love to call someone to bring me a coffee from Doutor during those rainy typhoon-filled days :P

My grandpa’s cousin owns CostCo. Unfortunately, he distanced himself from all his relatives once the wealth was flowing, so I can’t send him any recommendations for the operations of foreign-based warehouses. Looks like I’ll be using this service instead! Thanks for the heads-up!
